Hi again everyone, Anne here!
In my last post, I shared the story of my very first photography competition entry back in 2017 – the EPSON International Pano Awards – and the absolute thrill of winning a Bronze award in the prestigious Open category against seasoned professionals. That experience was truly a landmark moment for me, especially being less than a year into my landscape photography journey.
But the excitement of the 2017 Pano Awards didn't end there! While the Open Bronze was a delightful shock, I was equally overwhelmed and incredibly grateful to learn that seven of my other images had received Bronze Awards in the Amateur category!
Receiving one award felt amazing, but getting recognition for seven different pieces of work in the Amateur section was mind-blowing. As someone still very much learning and developing my eye for panoramic landscapes, this felt like incredible validation. It wasn't just one lucky image; it was confirmation that the passion, practice, and late nights pouring over techniques were starting to translate into consistently recognised work.
Each of these seven images tells its own story and represents a step forward in my photographic development at that time. They captured different scenes, different moods, and different moments that resonated with me, and I was so honoured that they resonated with the judges too.
I'd love to share a glimpse of the images that received these Amateur Bronze Awards back in 2017:

Seeing this collection of images receive awards was a massive confidence booster. It encouraged me to keep experimenting, keep exploring the incredible landscapes around us (especially here in Australia!), and keep pushing my creative boundaries. It reinforced that landscape photography wasn't just a fleeting interest but a path I was truly excited to pursue seriously.
The 2017 EPSON International Pano Awards, with both the Open and these seven Amateur Bronze awards, will always hold a special place in my heart. It was the beginning of an
exciting journey into the world of photographic awards, and a powerful reminder that dedication really does pay off.
Thanks for following along with my story!
Warmly,
Anne
